I plan to vote yes on Measure V in support of Village Farms. No project is perfect but the positive aspects of Village Farms greatly outweigh any negatives.

An unusually large share of housing units are the types that we most need, both affordable units for people with low and very low incomes and smaller, less expensive market rate units such as half-plexes and town houses (the “missing middle”).

The project is walking-distance to a major shopping center and bike paths provide grade-separated access to schools and the city center, facilitating active transportation and mitigating the impacts on traffic.

And the project advances many of the goals of CAAP with energy-efficient homes and abundant trees. Don’t wait endlessly for a perfect project, vote yes on V for a really good project.
